Ms. Magistifo's Big Summer CATS Adventure

Heres the story of my trip to Boston July 7-12th, to see CATS and explore the big city of Boston!
We started out early monday morning, getting up at 5:20am. (not too late and not too early). We went to Tim Hortons, then set off on our way. We crossed into Canada and out again into Upstate New York. We drove for about 12 hours, until we got ot our hotel. The Boston Park Plaza Hotel! We got to our room, only to find that the air coniditioning didn't work. So we got moved to another room, which was really small. So we talked to the front desk and they said that they would move us to a family sized room with two bathrooms the next morning. So we got complimentary meal tickets form the hotel for as long as we were staying there.

Boston:CATS Adventure!
Tuesday (CATS!)-Thursday: Boston Adventure!

(We =my parents and I)

On Tuesday morning, we got up and decided to walk the freedom walk. The Freedom Walk is a three mile walk around Boston where you go to all the historic sites that involve the many wars. Ie. Paul Revere's House, Revolutionary War Memorial etc... It was about 87 degrees too. Phew! Well after that we went to see the USS Constitution, an old warship known was "Old Ironsides". Its from the Revolutionary War I think... When we got back to the hotel, we were sweaty and gross, and ready to get ready to see CATS. But they hadn't moved us into our new room yet. So we did that, but the room wasn't ready yet. So we had to wait another half an hour for the maids to clean it. After getting showered and such, we got on our way to go see CATS!

CATS: North Shore Music Theatre
Opening Night

Jacob Brent, my ballet teacher, invited me to come see him in CATS last April, so I came. We met about an hour before the show. He was outside the stage door waiting for me! He looked like Frodo, his hair had grown out a little, I guess that was it. As soon as he saw me he started shouting "You're here! I can't believe you're actually here!" I was thinking "Anything for you!". I was really happy to see him, and I think he was happy to see me. :) (Ms. Magis falls off her chair.) So we talked, hugged, and such for about 15 minutes, then he had to go get ready. He told me to meet him backstage after the show. So I headed in. I was still an hour early, and I had to talk to the lady in charge to be able to see Jake after the show. So I talked to her, and then decided to get a bite to eat, seeing as I had had no time to eat earlier. So I went up to the concessions stand to get a Coke and Soft Pretzel. Well they had the Coke, but the pretzels were like Rocks! I was soo mad. So my parents and I went over to the other counters. Still no hot pretzels. So I got a piece of chocolate cake instead. *yummy* *drooling*. The show was great, everyone in it had done CATS before so it was greater than great. :) (real mature word choice, no?) The costumes were really wierd: Description as follows...

No one had a white bib!

Bombalurina is yellow with little tiger stripes

Demeter is Neon orange

Sillabub is grey and her wig was a blonde shirley temple wig with some grey frayed yarn in it

Munku was all light grey with little stars here and there instead of being a tabby.

Pouncival was neon orange with brown

Victoria had pink and grey in her wig, and had grey stipes on her instead of orange.

Plato was all dark grey with brown/dark grey stripes on his sides

Jelly was just yellow

Macavity was red/black/navy with no little hairs all over

The Tugger had a round mane that was short leopard fabric

Rumple was dark grey with black and red stripes and had long red warmers she wore.

Mungo was just yellow

Tumble was just grey

Skimble was dully striped

Cori-Tanto were just grey

Cass was soo pale and she had no transition colors on her. her wig also didnt cover her ears.

Misto was normal in the body, but his wig had white stripes up the back making him look like a pole cat.

Griz was normal and so was Old Due, except for Old Due's jacket that was green, yellow, and orange.

Alonzo was all brown with a sew on tan tummy

Anywhoo, after the show I went to the backstage entrance and waited. Then I heard talking backstage. "Theres an Emily here for you? Do you want to see her" "Yes!" *Ms. Magis is surprised at such an enthusiastic answer. Jacob you are the best!* Jacob was waiting for me backstage in his magic Misto costume. We talked a little and took a picture together. (Jacob requested the picture not be posted online) Sorry Jake Luvrs No MISTO PIC REQUESTS PLEASE!! We had to say quick goodbyes because Jake was rushed off to get out of his costume/makeup for the opening night party. :(

Wednesday morning we got up, went down to a complimentary buffet breakfast, and since it was raining, rode the Boston Duck Tours! The duck tours are these amphibious vehicles that drive you around Boston, then drive (yep drive!) into the same river the Boston Tea Party was held in! They take you around a bit, let the little ones drive, and then take you back to where you started. After the duck tour, we rode the T (subway) to the Aquarium. The interesting Fishies! We stopped at the Black Rose Pub, were a real Irishmen was our waiter! Then we went to the North End for some authentic Italian! We went to Cafe' Pompeii. Great food!

Thursday morning we woke up, went downstairs to another complimentary breakfast, and then rode the T to Harvard! We walked around completly clueless to where we were going for about an hour, then stopped to buy shirts and rod the T to the North End again to get some Gilado (Italian homemade Ice Cream!). After that, we rode the T back to the hotel, rested, and had dinner. My mom and I walked Boylston street and the Boston Park, looking at all the fancy-shmancy shoppes! Then we went back to the hotel to pack our schtuffs.

Ms. Magistifo and Niagara Falls!
Friday-Saturday: Niagara!
On Friday morning we woke up, had a complimentary breakfast, and left for Niagara Falls. We drove for 6 hours until we crossed into Canada, and went to out hotel. The Old Stone Inn. It used to be a flour mill and some other things, but was turned into an Inn in the early 1900's. We go there late so we had time to eat dinner and watch the fireworks at the Falls.
**************************************************
Saturday morning we woke up, ate breakfast, packed for home, and went down to explore the Falls. We went on the "Journey Behind the Falls" where you walk through a tunnel and come out behind the Canadian Falls. Then we went on the "Maid of the Mist" tour. You take a boat ride under Horseshoe Falls (Canadian Falls). We got soaked! My pants/socks/shoes were soaked!

After all the water fun, we drove home.

I knitted a little, wigged a little, and watched Sailor Moon episodes the whole way home. *I have never watched that much Sailor Moon in my life Whoa!!!*

Hope you enjoyed hearing about my trip as much as I enjoyed going on it!

Luv ya!

Ms. Magis
